RusHydro dams Bureya river to complete the construction of Nizhne-Bureyskaya hydropower plant in the Far East
The river damming allows to complete the construction of the main retaining structures of the plant. The length of the ground dam is 400 m, full height – 41.5 m.
The concrete structures of the Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP are 90% ready. Two hydropower units manufactured by Power Machines are being installed in the turbine room.
The Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP, counter-regulator for the Bureyskaya HPP, is the second plant of the Bureya Hydropower Complex in the Amur Region. The project capacity of the Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP is 320 MW (four hydro units); average annual output will be 1,650 GW. The plant’s construction has started in 2010; it is one of priority projects of RusHydro’s investment program.
