Paul Dergarabedian commented, "Disney made it rumble in the jungle at the global box office this weekend as 'The Jungle Book' earns an amazing \\$240 million, including \\$103.6 million in its number one North America debut, making it the second largest April opening in history and the highest April opening for a PG-rated release. Internationally, following a successful opening last weekend in a handful of territories, the film enjoyed an estimated weekend of \\$136.1 million. including a great 3-day \\$50.3 million start in China. This puts the film at \\$290.967 million to date."
