Uralkali is the prizewinner of the 4th All-Russian Competition for Best Practices of Employers
OREANDA-NEWS. Today, the final events and awarding ceremony of the 4th All-Russian Competition for Best Practices of Employers in the Development of Human Capital — Creating the Future were held within the framework of the 5th Forum of the International Association of Corporate Education — People and Technologies in Future Organisations. The competition was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Uralkali presented its project ‘Potassium Laboratory’, which won a top place in the ‘Professional Orientation’ category nomination.
Natalia Volvach, Head of Personnel Development Department of Uralkali, commented:
“Uralkali attaches great importance to training highly-qualified young professionals. Therefore, the Company’s work with the younger generation begins early, while they are still at school. For schoolchildren, vocational guidance-work is the first step towards occupational choice. The Company also actively cooperates with higher and secondary educational institutions, realizing that actual students may become potential Uralkali employees in the future. Within the framework of the cooperation agreement, Uralkali also offers nominal scholarships to the students of the Perm National Research Polytechnic University and the Berezniki Branch of the Perm National Research Polytechnic University, Berezniki Polytechnic College as well as Solikamsk Mining and Chemical College. The Company also carries out vocational training on targeted recruitment programs.”
Uralkali successfully implemented its project ‘Potassium Laboratory’ between June and July 2016 at the Ural Gems Children’s Health Camp. Students of junior classes of ages ranging from 7 to 9 years participated in the project. In total, 240 students took part in the project.
As a part of the program, the children made acquaintance in a playful manner with Uralkali operational activities and main professions. The playground was equipped with five stations: Technological Chain Laboratory, Mechanics, Construction, Product Quality Control, Product Transportation. While performing tasks at the stations, the participants became acquainted with entire technological chain, from potash ore mining to shipments of potassium chloride.
Uralkali is one of the world’s largest potash producers and exporters. The Company’s assets consist of 5 mines and 7 ore-treatment mills situated in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Territory, Russia). Uralkali employs ca.11,000 people (in the main production unit). Uralkali’s shares are traded on the Moscow Exchange.
