OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2016. TrailWay Brewing Company, a microbrewery that produces flavourful American-style ale, has expanded to help increase its brewing capacity, thanks to the Government of Canada and the Province of New Brunswick.

The company started brewing beer on a one 31-gallon barrel system in a basement selling to local pubs. Today, TrailWay founders Jake Saunders and Dan Mason operate a stylish new 10 barrel brewery, complete with a tasting room and large patio area.

Matt DeCourcey, Member of Parliament for Fredericton, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and the Honourable Stephen Horsman, Deputy Premier and Minister responsible for Families and Children, Minister responsible for Military Affairs, joined TrailWay Brewing Company officials at the microbrewery today to make the funding announcement.

The project involved equipment purchases, as well as leasehold improvements to support the expansion. The upgraded location is expected to help the microbrewery increase production, allowing TrailWay to maintain current customers and meet future client demand. 

The Government of Canada provided a repayable contribution of \\$328,094 to the project through ACOA’s Business Development Program, while Opportunities New Brunswick contributed \\$14,310 and TrailWay Brewing Company invested \\$79,712.
