OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2016. Three Honeywell lawyers have been named “IP Stars” by Managing Intellectual Property (IP) Magazine. Honeywell’s David A. Cohen and Greg Ansems of the United States and Jerry Xia of China were named as highly recommended in-house counsel. 

The annual list recognizes counsel who have been exceptional in managing their company's IP assets and taking steps to improve the IP ecosystem in their jurisdiction. Honeywell’s IP assets, including its trademarks, differentiated software and designs are key to sustaining Honeywell’s competitive advantage. The Honeywell Intellectual Property Law group helps protect these IP assets by filing over a 1000 patents a year and registering Honeywell’s many trademarks in more than 120 countries.

Recipients were chosen based on extensive research among IP practitioners carried out over six months. Responses from thousands of practitioners were gathered by phone, email and face-to-face meetings, creating the most comprehensive authoritative survey of the IP legal market available. The list of IP Stars is distributed at leading industry events like The International Trademark Association (INTA), Licensing Executives Society (LES), The Association of European Trademark Owners (MARQUES) and American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and serves as a one-stop reference guide for US and international in-house counsel and private-practice lawyers around the world.
