The share of the domestic brands market is growing in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS The analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a survey of the Russian market of new cars, which covered sales of domestic brands. According to the results of the study, in the first quarter of 2017 their sales were 82 thousand units (including LCV), which is more by 7.6% than in the same period of a year ago.
If we consider the statistics of the AEB, then in January-March the sales of LADA cars reached 61.4 thousand units, by showing an increase of 8%. Sales of light commercial vehicles "GAZ" for the reporting period grew by 9% to 10.7 thousand units. A little less it was sold "UAZ" cars (9.8 thousand units), which is more by 4% than a year ago. It should be noted that all three brands are in the TOP-10 of the Russian market: LADA is the leader, and GAZ and UAZ occupy the ninth and tenth positions, respectively.
Thus, the total share of sales of domestic car brands in the first quarter of 2017 was 25.4%, although a year before this figure was 23.9%. As analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, the growth of the market share of domestic brands occurs against a background of falling sales of foreign cars, the sales of which in Russia in the first quarter fell by 1%.
