OREANDA-NEWS. Skoda has unveiled the new Octavia and its "charged" version of the Octavia RS, both models are presented in liftback and wagon body styles. Start of sales of the new Skoda Octavia in Russia is scheduled for April; the model will be available at a price of 940 thousand Rubles. It will go on sale in the second quarter of 2017, according to Skoda Auto Russia press service.

The new design of Skoda Octavia is created by a front part of the car body with a wider radiator closure, framed by new headlights of head light and honeycomb air intakes. The standard model is equipped with halogen headlights, complemented by LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights. Modern infotainment systems feature are equipped with the increased capacitive touch screens.

For the new Skoda Octavia it will be available a range of powerful and economic petrol engines. Engines 1,6 MPI optionally are equipped with manual or automatic transmissions, power units 1,4 TSI (150 hp) and 1,8 TSI (180 hp) combined with a manual gearbox and the robotized gearbox DSG.

The front part of the model RS looks wider, powerful arc are framed by external air intakes, lower part of which is filled with honeycomb inserts. Accents in the rear part of the body are presented in the form of trunk spoiler (in the liftback) and the spoiler in the rear part of the roof (in the station wagon). The car is equipped with a petrol engine 2,0 TSI 230 hp

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", the sale of Skoda Octavia in Russia in 2016 grew by 1.8% to 21759 cars.
