OREANDA-NEWS The St. Petersburg plant Hyundai in the first quarter of 2017 produced 54 thousand cars, which is more by 30% than the same indicator of the last year. The company is working consistently in three production shifts, five days a week, informed the Hyundai Motor CIS press service.

In the middle of February, the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus started the commercial production of a new generation of Hyundai Solaris, which, from the first days of sales in March of this year, demonstrates high demand from consumers. Production of Hyundai Solaris cars of the previous generation was completed in the last year.

In 2016 - 2017, Hyundai Motor Company invested additionally 11 billion rubles in its Russian production. The investments were aimed at modernizing of the production capacities of the enterprise in preparation for the production of new models. Currently, more than 230 robots are involved in the production of cars at the plant. The enterprise differs by a high level of automation of a production line, the effective organization of working processes and use of resources. Totally, in 2017, the Russian plant of the company Hyundai Motor plans to produce more than 220 thousand cars.

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", in January-March of 2017 sales of KIA Rio in the Russian market grew by 28.6% to 21201 cars. Thus, this model became the leader in terms of sales among foreign cars. Sedan Hyundai Solaris for the same period found 11787 buyers (-45%), and the compact crossover Hyundai Creta was sold in the amount of 11345 units.
