OREANDA-NEWS  The car market in Russia, which, despite the holiday season in August, continued to recover at a high pace, rose to the second place in the ranking of the largest car markets in Europe in the last month. As analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, our country was able to improve its positions in the "European championship" thanks to the traditional for Europe summer decrease in demand for cars.

According to data obtained by the agency "AUTOSTAT" in the national associations of European automakers, Germany remains the leader in car sales in August, where 253,679 vehicles were sold (+ 3.5%). If, during the considering of the car market in Europe we take into account Russia, then our country has risen to the second place of the European rating. According to preliminary estimates of the agency "AUTOSTAT", sales of cars were more than 122.5 thousand units in the last month (excluding LCV).

The third result was shown by France Ц 107,455 cars, which is more by 9.4% than in the previous year. Italy is the next with an indicator of 83363 sold cars (+ 15.8%). As noted in the Italian Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ANFIA), this is the best figure since 2009.

This time the top-five of European leaders is closed by the UK, whose car dealers sold 76,433 cars (-6.4%). As noted in the British Society of Automobile Manufacturers and Auto Dealers (SMMT), the negative dynamics is fixed for the fifth consecutive month; however, this is the third result of August sales for the last 10 years. Let's also add that the Spanish car market in August grew by 13% and it was 72410 vehicles.
