OREANDA-NEWS. At the car plant "LADA Izhevsk" in March of 2017, the production of the Nissan Sentra sedan was resumed, the Nissan spokesman told "Vedomosti". The model was not manufactured in January-February. Suspension of its production was explained by the fact that "the current situation in the warehouses of dealers provides sales for several months in advance."

The decision to resume the assembly of Sentra in March was made due to a reduction in stores. The top manager of one of the dealer companies also says that the current stock of the model is small, without specifying the figures. The car has a low demand, but it is important is that the company is not going to cut the lineup, he notes. The production plant for Sentra in 2017 at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant, was not disclosed by the representative of Nissan, he only noted that in March the production volumes are small.

In 2016, about 1500 cars of this model were manufactured (3.6 times less than in the previous year), according to a source familiar with the managers of LADA Izhevsk. Sales of Sentra fell by 80.6% to 1,468 units in the last year.

Let's remind, the production of sedan Nissan Sentra has begun at Izhevsk car plant in August, 2014. It is the first model of the Renault-Nissan alliance of the Izhevsk assembly: in March of 2015 IzhAvto also launched the production of Nissan Tiida hatchback, but in August its assembly was stopped for an indefinite period due to a significant drop in the S-segment in the Russian market.
