Rospotrebnadzor Granted a License to JSC RUSBURMASH to Use (Generating) Ionizing Radiation Sources
OREANDA-NEWS. On June 5, the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) granted a license to JSC RUSBURMASH for the use of (generating) ionizing radiation sources. The license will allow operating at an industrial level using the instrumental and methodical complex AMK KND-M (AINK-49) developed at the expense and in accordance with the ToR of JSC Rusburmash. Implementation of the said operations is planned at the facilities of JSC Khiagda (in 2017) and JSC Dalur (in 2018–2020).
The uniqueness of AMK KND-M is based on the following:
possibility of using in small diameter wells (from 60 mm) significantly expanding the scope of the method;
long working life (about 250 hours) of a neutron generator, which several times exceeds the resource of the generators belonging to AINK-60 equipment serially produced in the Russian Federation, thereby significantly reducing the operating costs;
possibility of simultaneous registration of a set of parameters characterizing not only the uranium content, but also such important physical characteristics as moisture content and clay fraction content in ores under conditions of natural occurrence.
Currently, the work on the report following the results of experimental and methodological work using AINK-49 on the technological line 2–8 of the Central deposit on the Khokhlovskoye field is pending completion. The results of these operations confirm the possibility of using the methods of impulse neutron-neutron logging (INNK) and prompt-fission neutron logging (KND-M), as well as the developed measurement technique implemented in AMK KND-M, to effectively solve various tasks during the deposit exploration and operation.
In late 2017, it is planned to test the prepared reporting materials on the application of AMK KND-M as a part of a geological report on Khokhlovskoye uranium deposit with the State Committee for Reserves.
