Nissan Group announces senior management changes in North America
OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2016. Nissan Group today announced several senior management appointments in North America intended to support the company's growth and global performance.
"As we achieve record levels of sales and market share in North America, it's critically important we continue to fine tune our organization to anticipate the ever-changing needs of the marketplace while offering best-in-class products," said Jos? Mu?oz, executive vice president, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML) and chairman, Nissan North America (NNA).
In fiscal year 2015, Nissan reached 2 million sales in the U.S., Canada and Mexico for the first time in the company's history, increasing its market share to 9.6 percent. The company has grown its share for eight of the last nine years. In 2016, Nissan is celebrating its "Year of the Truck" with launches of new TITAN, Pathfinder and Armada models, as well as other vehicles to be announced soon.
All changes are effective September 1, 2016:
Corporate Communications
Brian Brockman, currently Director, Internal Communications, NNA, is named Director, Group Communications, NNA. He will lead teams responsible for all Nissan Group communications activities in North America including corporate, manufacturing, labor and policy communications; multicultural communications; corporate social responsibility and crisis communications. Brockman will report to Kristina Adamski, vice president, Corporate Communications, NNA, and will be based in Franklin. Brockman's replacement will be announced at a later time.
Nissan Sales & Marketing and Infiniti Americas
Jeff Harris, regional vice president, East Region, Infiniti USA, is retiring after 27 years with the company. Harris joined Infiniti as Marketing Manager in the Central Region just before the brand's launch in 1989. Subsequently, he worked in various roles in the Infiniti and Nissan organizations, including District Operations Manager (DOM), Market Rep, Assistant Regional Manager and National Sales Operations and Aftersales at Infiniti before moving to the East Region in 2005.
Ted Mengiste, currently director, Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Sales & Marketing, NNA, will replace Harris as Regional Vice President, East Region, Infiniti USA. In this role, Mengiste will be responsible for directing all marketing, market representation, personnel and operational functions of the region. He will report to Randy Parker, vice president, Infiniti Americas, and will be based in the Infiniti East Region office in Somerset, New Jersey.
Tiago Castro, currently senior manager, NNA Product Planning, will replace Mengiste as Director, LCV Sales & Marketing, NNA. He will be responsible for major marketing and sales functions for commercial vehicles including sales operations, dealer network development and marketing. Castro will report to Fred Diaz, division vice president and general manager, Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles, NNA, and will be based in Franklin.
