OREANDA-NEWS Russian dealers of KIA sold 16,187 cars in July, which is more by 36.7% compared to the last year. This figure is almost double the average market recovery rate of sales, which was 19.8% in July of 2017, reports the press service of KIA MotorsRus. By the results of seven months of 2017, the growth rate of KIA sales exceeds the average market almost threefold - 24.2% vs. 8.5%. Since the beginning of the year, 101,376 KIA cars have been sold in Russia. According to preliminary estimates, KIA keeps a leading position among all foreign automobile brands, represented in Russia. The share of the brand was 12.4% of the market in July and 12.0% for the seven months of 2017. The increase of the market share of KIA in comparison with the figures of the previous year was 1.6% for both periods.

The best-seller of the Russian market is Rio model: in July 8456 sedans and hatchbacks of this model were sold (+ 11%). According to preliminary estimates, KIA Rio in the last month kept its leading position, and the launch of a new generation in August is designed to strengthen further the model's position. The second place in terms of sales in the KIA line in Russia was taken by the compact crossover Sportage, which was chosen by 2,138 customers, which is more by 55% than in the same period of the last year. The third place of the best-sellers rating of KIA is occupied by cee'd with the indicator of 1272 sold cars (+ 22%). By the end of July, the Soul crossover with a score of 1,202 vehicles came close the top-three of leaders.

As it was noted, 10 of the 12 models presented in the Russian line of brand showed positive dynamics in July. The most significant was the growth of demand for the flagship crossover Sorento Prime (+ 338%), the crossover Soul (+ 202%), the second-generation family Sorento crossover (+ 177%) and the updated Cerato sedan (+ 149%). For the three models - Soul, Cerato and Sorento of the second generation - July was the record year for sales with the figures of 1202, 620 and 465 sold cars, respectively. By the results of seven months, the leaders by demand growth are KIA Sorento Prime (+ 163.7%) and KIA Optima business class sedan (+103.3%). We should add also that by the end of July 2017, there were 181 official KIA dealers in 94 Russian cities.
