OREANDA-NEWS. KAMAZ plans to launch an experimental-industrial lot of the main-line tractors of the new generation KAMAZ-54901 in the next year. The model will be launched in the serial production in 2019, said the CEO of KAMAZ, Sergey Kogogin. «Completely the transition to the series will actively go since 2022,» he explained.

The head of KAMAZ noted that this is one of the main projects of the company, after which there is future. To realize this goal, in a short time, together with Daimler, it was built a new building for the production of cabin carcasses of K5 generation. Together with the new cab, new generation vehicles will be equipped with a new inline six-cylinder P6 engine. Under this task, a new conveyor has already been prepared at the KAMAZ engine plant, informs the press service of KAMAZ.

The company plans to enter the world market with the new vehicle. «Our intentions, first of all, are to enter the markets of the CIS countries. We expect to come with it to Europe, too,» - said Sergei Kogogin.

Recall, the new generation tractor KAMAZ-54901 became the company's premiere at the exhibition «Comtrans-2017». The cabin of the new truck meets all the latest requirements: the distance in the cockpit from floor to ceiling is 1980 mm, and the inner width is 2270 mm. When it was created, the ergonomics, convenience and comfort of the driver were made: controls and a dashboard with access at arm's length, a seat with a wide range of adjustments, two berths and an on-board information system with a 10-inch touch screen. Thanks to large steps and handles, cleaning the windscreen becomes simple and safe. Fog lights with cornering lights (or without them) are built into the bumper.
