KAMAZ-master Crews Are at the Start of Silk Way Rally

OREANDA-NEWS Tomorrow, on July 7, a starting ceremony of Silk Way Rally-2017 will take place on Red Square in Moscow. Among other participants four crews of the KAMAZ-master team will struggle for victory.
Since yesterday the participants have been undergoing administrative and technical inspections in Moscow. Tomorrow, after the ceremony on Red Square which is to be attended by Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ, 90 racing crews from 35 countries will start on their way. 21 vehicles, including KAMAZ's team, will strive to win In the truck category.
The leader of the Russian truck production – KAMAZ PTC – will be represented by the winners of Silk Way Rally-2016 Ayrat Mardeev, Dmitry Sotnikov, and also repeated prize-winners of various races Eduard Nikolaev and Anton Shibalov. According to Vladimir Chagin, Head of the KAMAZ-master team, Chelny's racers prepared their vehicles for the race thoroughly. Great job was done, the sports trucks were modified. In the course of the rally, many technical novelties and solutions will be tested. They include a new straight-six engine with a capacity of 13 litres and an automatic gearbox.
The seventh Silk Way rally will pass in Russia, Kazakhstan and China as a transcontinental marathon. The grand sporting travel consisting of 14 stages will finish on June 22. The route will pas from the west to the east: from Red Square in Moscow, through Astana and Semey, along The Turkestan–Siberian Railway, across the Gobi Desert to end in one of the ancient Chinese capitals, the city of Xian. The total length of the route is 9,607 km, the length of speed sections is 4,088 km.
The first special of the race is a 61-km secton between Moscow and Cheboksary. The organizers promise that the first day will be a real challenge for the crews. Vehicle settings should be accurate and the navigators should work perfectly searching for the right directions during this stage.
