ITT Enidine isolators, dampers and rate controls to appear on new aircraft
OREANDA-NEWS. ITT Inc. (NYSE: ITT) and its Enidine brand continue to partner with major aircraft manufacturers to supply custom, highly engineered technologies for effective stowage bin deployment and noise attenuation. Recently awarded project wins, valued at approximately $15 million over 10 years, feature Enidine’s unique rate control, isolator and rotary hinge damper products, including:
Enidine Load Compensating Rate Controls will provide effective deployment of the overhead, drop down stowage bins on a new commercial airliner scheduled for delivery in 2018. The rate controls employ ITT’s patented weight sensing valve which will allow the bins to open at the same speed regardless if they are empty or carrying up to 110 lbs. of luggage.
Enidine elastomeric isolators will provide effective noise attenuation for the interior of a new series of narrow-body, medium-range, twin-engine airliners scheduled for delivery in 2018. Enidine’s isolators will be part of a system on the regional jet that will make it one of the quietest planes in its class.
Enidine rotary hinge dampers will be used to effectively open the bin doors at a controlled speed and to the full upright position on a new wide-body commercial jet airliner scheduled for delivery in 2017.Composed of lightweight and high-strength plastic allowing for maximum weight reduction, these dampers offer automatic, smooth door lift, while maintaining enough strength to accommodate a service life of over 100,000 cycles.
"We are excited to provide custom solutions to some of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers," said Steve Kim, Vice President and General Manager of ITT Control Technologies’ Aerospace Business. "With more than 50 years of experience in the aviation industry, our products are trusted to solve problems for any demanding aviation application and enhance every aspect of the passenger flying experience."
