OREANDA-NEWS  Kaliningrad plant Avtotor and Hyundai Motor Company on April 13th signed a plan to launch the production of a full cycle of commercial Hyundai cars at Avtotor production facilities.

The project envisages the preparation of production lines at Avtotor sites and the production of Hyundai commercial vehicles in full-cycle since January of 2018, including the use of welding and painting techniques. In addition, the project plans to increase the production volumes and increase the level of localization. At the initial stage, it is planned to create at Avtotor the additional capacities with a total capacity of at least 16,000 cars per a year in full cycle mode. Joint investment in the project will be $ 50 million, informed the press service of Avtotor.

Recall that in January of 2017, Hyundai Motor Company opened a new distribution company Hyundai Truck and Bus Rus in Russia, which began to promote commercial Hyundai cars, produced by Avtotor.

Cooperation of Avtotor with the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai began with the launch in 2011 of the production of trucks HD78. Since September of 2012, "Autotor" began the mass production of trucks Hyundai. To date, the line of commercial vehicles includes models HD35, HD65, HD78, HD120 and HD170 with a wide range of add-ons. In January of 2017, it was produced a pilot lot of the model of LCV-segment - all-metal H350 van. To date, Avtotor produces the whole line of Hyundai commercial vehicles, which are sold in the Russian market.
