OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2016. Women’s Equality Day represents a turning point in the history of the struggle for equal treatment of women.

Honeywell, with 130,000 employees operating in over 70 countries around the world has an ongoing and strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, and is a keen advocate for women leaders. We believe that a diverse workforce creates more and new opportunities and leads to more effective decision making.  Our commitment starts at the top with our award-winning Board of Directors. Not only are they committed to diversity, they are representative of our ideals. Of our 12 directors, three are women. 

In 2012, the Company launched a strong and growing global Women’s Council to drive projects that focus on the development and retention of female leaders, and the program has been a catalyst for ideas and initiatives to keep top female talent at Honeywell through increased networking opportunities and other activities.  

Honeywell is proud of that growing track record and of the women on its senior leadership team, many of whom have been honored by organizations and presented with awards in recognition of their achievements and contributions. 

Most recently, Honeywell UOP President and CEO Rebecca Liebert was recognized as a winner of Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 15th Annual Women Worth Watching Awards. In her role, Rebecca directs the world’s leading supplier of process technology, catalysts, engineered systems and technical and engineering services to the global petroleum refining, petrochemical and gas processing industries.

Honeywell’s Latin America General Counsel Valeria Chapa Garza was also chosen as a Top 100 Woman Worth Watching. Last year, Valeria launched an innovative program for women lawyers in Mexico that pairs senior lawyers with junior lawyers, and also co-founded Abogadas MX, which aims to increase the representation of women in law through professional development, networking and leadership opportunities. Valeria was also named #32 on CNN’s Mexican branch, Expansion, list of Mexico’s 100 most influential women business executives.

Yaneris Rosa, Assistant General Counsel of Honeywell Security and Fire, was recognized for enhancing legal diversity by Chambers and Partners. She was honored with the Future Leader Gender Diversity Award for her commitment to driving diversity in the legal profession, and was selected based on her career progression, positive impact to her community and advancement for minority inclusion. 

On Women’s Equality Day 2016, Honeywell honors our successful female leaders and all those women who are making strides in their professions.
