OREANDA-NEWS Аt the end of 2016 GM-AVTOVAZ exported 1555 Chevrolet Niva SUVs - less by 34.5% than the year before.

As the agency "AUTOSTAT" was informed by GM-AVTOVAZ press service, the largest foreign market for the joint venture in the last year became Ukraine - this republic had 44.1% of exports of Chevrolet Niva. Kazakhstan took 23.2% in the supply of the joint venture to the external markets, 17.5% - to Belarus.

"Reducing of the volume of exports is due to a decrease of buying activity in the automobile market of Kazakhstan, which was the main export market in 2015. The reduction was due to the entry into force of legal acts related to the payment of the recycling and registration fees before the production of vehicle for the sale, which led to increased costs for consumers", - commented the press service of GM-AVTOVAZ.

Volumes of supplies of Chevrolet Niva for export in 2017 will depend on the demand in foreign markets. Thus in 2017 a priority for GM-AVTOVAZ will be the strengthening of positions Chevrolet Niva in the CIS countries, noted in the press-service of the joint venture.
