OREANDA-NEWS. The Chinese brand FAW is considering the possibility of launching a second model in Kaliningrad's Avtotor (in April the industrial production of the Besturn X80 was launched after 80 units of the pilot lot). Presumably it will happen at the beginning of 2018.

«This model does not compete with any domestic cars produced in the country,» - Valery Gorbunov, the chairman of the board of directors of Avtotor Holding, informed journalists. «Rather, it competes with imported Japanese cars». The top manager also explained that the holding signed a general agreement with the Chinese company, which determines the number of produced cars: in the near future, FAW plans to reach the production of 25,000 cars. At the same time, we are talking about a full cycle and the readiness to bring the production of components to the main production.

Among other things, FAW is also studying the issue of the production of commercial vehicles in Kaliningrad. «They have a very good line of commercial vehicles,» – says Mr. Gorbunov. «Moreover, they started from it and they developed quite seriously ...».
