OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2012. Implementation Scheme on the Strategy of Promoting the Rise of Central China (for approval) (hereinafter called Scheme) was issued recently. According to the Scheme, the GDP of Hefei Economic Zone will strive to take up 40% of the whole province by 2016.

The Scheme pointed out that the adjustment of administrative divisions will be launched at proper time. Based on the Scheme, Anhui will advance crossing-Yangtze-River joint development of Maanshan, Wuhu, Tongling and Anqing, accelerating the integration of Wuhu and Maanshan, Tongling and Chizhou and create city clusters along Yangtze River.

By 2016, the GDP per capita in Wanjiang City Belt will surpass 7000 USD and Wanjiang City Belt will basically accomplish well-off society in an all-round way.

According to the Scheme, by 2016, Anhui will strive to accomplish all the aims and tasks put forward in "3 Strong Province" (economically strong province, culturally strong province and ecologically strong province); the growth rate of major indicators will be top ranking in Central China and per capita income for both urban and rural residents will hit national average level.
