OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2012. The volumes of travel services grow from year to year. According to experts who analyzed the status and trends of tourism industry in the country, by 1 million tourists up on the previous year will visit Ukraine in 2012.

In 2011 this figure had been increased by 20% and had made 9.8 billion UAH. This was reported by Head of the State Agency for Tourism and Resorts Olena Shapovalova during a briefing at the Government House on March 23.

"Worldwide increasing of tourist entries is fixed at level of 4%, and at us, in our country is at 20%.This is a very good indicator of growth," Olena Shapovalova commented this data .

According to her growth of financial and economic indicators industry occurred due to increasing of tourist stream. Moreover, both inbound and outbound, said the Agency Head. According to the State Border Guard Service, from 24.5 million citizens who entered our country, 1.2 million came just for tourism purposes. Of these, services of Ukrainian tour operators used the organized 343,511 foreign tourists (25%). Others have organized vacations in our country on one's own. This trend formed by spreading internet services. "As for many Europeans, we are geographically close, they enter into Ukraine without a visa and don’t use the tour operators services," said Olena Shapovalova.
