Cruise Liner Will Arrive at Chaohu Lake
OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2012. A luxury liner dubbed "Rolls-Royce on water" has been built and will soon set sail to its stronghold Chaohu Lake of Anhui province from Hunan province's Dongting Lake where the producer is based, a company source said.
Visitors will be able to cruise the Chaohu Lake, one of China's five largest freshwater lakes, in the nine-million-odd-yuan liner.
The exciting news was first announced at the 2012 Tourism Development Summit for Chaohu Lake Basin and the 9th Global Tourism Forum jointly held on February 22.
It has been reported that the cruise ship is on three decks. On the first deck, meeting rooms cover a total area of 212 sqm and each has a seating capacity of 40 people. A 132-sqm dining hall with a capacity of 40 people and a 97-sqm sightseeing platform are on the second and third decks, respectively.
The vessel has been finished building and will soon be put out of dock, a salesperson with Sunbird Yacht Co.said.
It is likely to travel to Anhui by water, since the shipbuilder is located by the Dongting Lake, which is linked with the Chaohu Lake by the Yangtze River, a company executive said, adding that it will take about one week for the ship to arrive in Chaohu Lake.
On board, tourists can enjoy the enchanting scenery of the lake while business persons can hold meetings at high-end venues.
Aside from 12 buoys, Life jackets are available to all crew members and passengers boarding the liner, including seven designed for children.
