Li Bin Sets out Priorities for 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2012. The provincial government of Anhui held an executive meeting Wednesday to set out priorities for 2012 and deliberate on plans for the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) period.
The meeting was chaired by Li Bin, lately appointed governor of Anhui province.
Li said as objectives and tasks for this year's economic and social development have been set at the "two sessions", it is pressing to involve all organizations and individuals concerned in achieving their corresponding goals.
The provincial government will continue to ensure sound and rapid economic growth this year partly by boosting investment and construction and stimulating consumption and foreign trade.
It is necessary to speed up the improvement and upgrading of industrial structures in a bid to build up a more competitive modern industrial system, the governor said, adding that more efforts should be made to strengthen leading industries and strategic emerging industries, modernize the agricultural sector and promote development of modern services.
Li also said the government will work hard to coordinate regional development by raising the level of development of the Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zone in the Anhui Yangtze River City Belt, re-flourishing the North Anhui area, integrating Hefei Economic Circle and promoting development of the South Anhui region and the Mountain Dabie area.
Besides, the provincial government will further ensure and improve people's well-being this year. It will continue to give top priority to education, increase employment by various means and improve the social security system, Li Bin said at the conference.
A package of plans for the 12th Five-Year Plan(2011-2015) period were endorsed after deliberation at the meeting, covering areas like reforms, overseas investment, environmental protection, and circular economy.
