Russian Government Stimulates Work of Azerbaijani Labor Migrants
OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2011.Russia has begun to stimulate work of Azerbaijani labor migrants to avoid their deportation.
In Baku in the course of international conference "State Employment Service’s role in Decent Work Provision: Modern Approaches & Priorities", deputy head of the Russian Federal Labour & Employment Service Ivan Shklovets has said that labor migrants from Azerbaijan rank the third place on the number after Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
"The Russian government has taken steps to legalize activities of foreign migrants, including Azerbaijani ones. The current quota for foreign labor migrants is 1.8 million. At that, rate of illegal migrants ranges 3 million to 4 million. We are striving to legalize migrants, and not by some sort of restrictive measures, but measures stimulating legal work in the labor market. Instead to register a package of necessary documents, we introduce quite simplified schemes, in particular patent," Shklovets said.
He added that migrant workers, by paying a nominal fee, receive monthly a patent, so that their activities are legalized, and the migrant may enter into an employment contract with the employer.
