OREANDA-NEWS. September 7, 2011. The working visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Dushanbe, the Republic of Tajikistan, where he participated in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, is an important political event of the international level. As was reported, the Republic of Tajikistan that presides over the CIS Council of Heads of State delegated presidency to Turkmenistan during this meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. Thus, it is quite natural that the information about Turkmenistan and its leader occupied the first pages of the news blocks of the world leading news agencies.

Tajikistan mass media dedicated big publications in newspapers and journals as well as radio and television broadcasts to our country and President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

According to observers the dynamics of the fruitful Turkmen-Tajik partnership and the ties of friendship and fraternity of the two peoples united by the centuries-old historical and cultural relations have been strengthened within the last years. The friendly confidential relations between the leaders of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan – Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon contributed to this process.

On the eve of the working visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Dushanbe, front-pages of the central publications presented articles about development of independent Turkmenistan and its culture as well as about the economic and tourist potential of our country. Thus, the weekly newspaper Evening Dushanbe provided information about achievements in the health-care system of Turkmenistan illustrated by photos depicting the ceremonies of opening of new modern international medical centers in Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan was the main theme of the first September issue of the Business & Politics independent social and political newspaper that described the foreign-policy initiatives of the independent Turkmen state acting as a guarantor of peace and stability in the Central Asian region. Next day, September 2, Business & Politics dedicated a special issue to our country, which focused on the educational policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The readers could learn more about the solemn ceremony of opening of a complex of buildings of the Institute of International Relations, which took place in Ashgabat with participation of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as other architectural premiers dedicated to the Knowledge and Student’s Day, which is widely celebrated in our country. A popular in Tajikistan People’s Newspaper told about achievements and prospects of the tourist sphere in Turkmenistan under the heading “International life”.

A Tajik journal Elite dedicated its several issues to the history, culture and modern development of independent Turkmenistan. The latest special issue of the journal was devoted to promotion of the ties of friendship and fruitful cooperation between the two fraternal peoples. That is vividly exemplified by a holiday in honor of a Turkmen classical poet Magtymguly Fragi, which was widely celebrated in Tajikistan. The journal presented articles dedicated to the poet and Turkmen’s legendary forefather – Oguzhan as well as the proud and glory of our people world-famous Ahalteke horses and horse breeding development in modern Turkmenistan.

Authors of an article presented in the Elite journal noted: “Today, reading about, listening to and seeing the Turkmen people’s achievements, its rapid course along the way of progress, it is impossible to remain indifferent to all this and, moreover, it is not possible not to admire the creative energy and availability of all initiatives. For us, writers, it looks like a field, where each ear keeps the warmth of grain growers’ hands and stirring literary works can be created about each of them. Thinking about the deeds of the Turkmen people and their President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, we understand that it is not only achievement of one prospective and clever nation, but an inspired example for many peoples and states. And the task for us, workers of culture and art of Tajikistan, to write more about Turkmen friends, to share their joy and be inspired by their accomplishments as a good word is truthfully and pleasant”.

One of the issues of the Elite journal was dedicated to development of the Turkmen-Tajik relations, including diplomacy, which were described under the heading “Old and friendly neighbours”. A photo placed on the journal cover, which depicted the friendly handshake of the leaders of the two independent states - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, is a bright illustration of the mutual understanding between the two peoples.
