North Azerbaijani Village Got Access to Drinkable Water
OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2011. Residents of Seidli village of Azerbaijan’s Khachmaz region have been provided an access drinkable water.
International organization Save the Children informs that the initiative has been realized within Every Drop Matters" program carried out jointly with Coca-Cola Bottlers company’s Azerbaijani office.
Seidli village numbering 1450 people is located in the north of Azerbaijan on the shore of the Caspian Sea which has wide tourism potential. Before the start of the project implementation 90% of residents out of 650 families of the village used low quality ground water which prevented tourism development in the region.
Following the close work of Every Drop Matters project team with Seidli society there was successfully drilled a bore-well.
Provision of access to pure and high quality drinkable water for the village will not only have positive effect on the village residents’ health but will also give support to farmers in carrying out agricultural work and increase of yield.
