Director of Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council Visits Turkmenistan
OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2011. A meeting with Eric Stuart, Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. It turned into a lively exchange of views on the current state and prospects for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States in various fields in line with modern realities and mutual priorities.
It was emphasized that bilateral relations at the present stage had the consistent dynamics due to the balanced and constructive foreign policy pursued by the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the ongoing large-scale economic diversification programme.
Expressing the mutual willingness of the two countries to strengthen and expand partnership developed successfully over the past years in the bilateral and multilateral formats, the participants discussed the possibilities for the implementation of new important joint projects in the trade and economic, fuel and energy, transport and communication, agricultural and other sectors.
Focusing on the prospects for strengthening bilateral business contacts, Mr. Eric Stewart said that the business circles in the United States attached great importance to intensification of mutually advantageous ties with Turkmenistan, which had the tremendous economic and resource potential and enjoyed the reputation of a dependable and prestigious partner in the world arena. This was vividly illustrated by the fact that members of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council had increased significantly in number recently.
Also, the Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council will take the trips to Turkmenbashi town, where he will see the progress in development of the Avaza national tourism zone, and the Kov-Ata underground lake in Baharly Etrap in Ahal Veleyat.
