OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2010. The Ministry of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan will put into operation another eight production divisions for manufacture of new types of weapons and ammunition.

Defence industry minister Yaver Jamalov has stated today that armed forces’ dependence on foreign ammunition supplies has been removed fully – domestic producers make all kinds of ammunition the army needs.

"Work on production of armor is underway. It will enable to eliminate the dependence in this field as well. We’re also working on manufacture of advanced weapons systems installed in military equipment," he added.

During its activity period the Ministry established 31 production facilities, ensured increase of this year’s production of defense importance output by 115 times, including 3.6-fold growth compared with 2009.
