OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2010. The third stage of improvement of the Kamenka river banks started in Nakhodka. Work is being carried out on the riverbank from bridge to Malinovsky Street to bypass road by order of the city administration.

Project of improvement of the Kamenka river banks stipulates widening and deepening the river, strengthening of the riverbanks with the help of special stone gabions and construction of footways on section of the riverbank of 520 meters in length. Moreover, next 180-meter section of the Kamenka River is planned to be cleared of garbage. 3.2 million rubles were allocated from the municipal budget for these purposes.

According to the chief of Nakhodka city administration’s Department of the City Territory Improvement Irina SAZONTOVA, the company "Stroitel-43" won tender to carry out construction jobs on the Kamenka River. Today, excavator carries out dredging jobs.

At the next stage, riverbank will be strengthened with special stone gabions. After that, railings made of stainless steel will be installed along the riverbank. Besides, footways will be constructed as well. If the weather is fine, the contract company will complete all construction jobs in autumn. Improvement of the opposite riverbank is planned for next year.
