ISS Commanders Investigated Station’s Surface
OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2010. Current ISS commander Oleg Kotov, and Alexander Skvortsov, who is to take his position in late May, were looking for the holes in the station’s surface. The efforts were caused not by an anomaly, but by a session of Russian experiment Bar.
Bar is intended to validate the searching methods for the ISS leaks. The experiment implies temperature and humidity analysis, with the purpose to find leaking points. If a leak occurs, pressure and temperature decrease gradually. Using special devices, Iva and Kelvin-Video Kotov and Skvortsov investigated the surface to detect temperature changes.
