OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2010. The heavy nuclear missile cruiser of the Northern Fleet Pyotr Veliky (Peter the Great) crossed the Strait of Gibraltar and entered the Mediterranean Sea. The crew has to practise a number of tasks in cooperation with the Russian Navy and other states ships.

The Pyotr Veliky started its mission on March 30. During this time the ship left the stern of 3,5 thousand nautical miles. Sailors have demonstrated high apprenticeship during the passage of the Channel. The helicopter aviators of the Northen Fleet flew training missions from the deck of the cruiser.
