Nakhodka Enters Year of 2010 with Good Demographic Situation
OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2010. Employees of the city administration’s Department of Civil Acts Registration summed up the results of the year 2009. According to their information, birth rate and the number of marriages continue to grow in Nakhodka city district while the rate of death is decreasing.
It is the 10th year that employees of the city administration’s Department of Civil Acts Registration register such a positive demographic tendency in our city district. According to the words of the chief of the Department Natalia SHMARGUN, 1,842 newborns were registered in 2009. This number is 66 babies more compared to the previous year. Among newborns were 957 boys and 885 girls. 17 couples of twins, a triplet and even a quadruplet were born in Nakhodka’s maternity hospital in 2009. The number of families who chose to have a second baby or more is increasing in Nakhodka as well.
1,365 couples decided to register their marriages in 2009. This number is 71 couples more than in 2008. Moreover, 29 of these marriages were concluded between Russians and foreigners, among whom were citizens from former republics of the USSR as well as China, Korea, Finland and Iran.
