OREANDA-NEWS. January 04, 2010. Newly built “Azadlyg Prospekti” metro station was inaugurated in the 8th microregion area of Baku. President Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony.

The President was informed that, the construction of “Azadlyg Prospekti” metro station, which belongs to the north division of III turn of Baku Metro, started at the end of 2006. The project of construction was prepared by “Bakumetrolayihe” Institution. The inhabitants of seventh and eighth microregions, Rasulzade and Binagadi districts, and the surrounding areas will utilize the services of this metro station.

President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the constructors and subway workers and wished them success.

Then, the President cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening and toured the station.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed that, the subway, at a depth of 14 meters, features an unprecedented arched platform without columns. The materials and equipments, used in the construction, have been brought from various countries.

Familiarizing himself with the renovation works conducted around the metro station, the President met with the representatives of Binagadi region executive power, and congratulated them on the opening of a new station.
