Humanitarian Project on Cooperation with UN Population Fund
OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2009. The presentation of the outcomes of the UN humanitarian project on the Improvement of the Quality of Reproductive Health and Social Services for Refugees and Host Communities organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was held in Ashgabat. The representatives of the TACIS Agency, the diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan and journalists participated in forum. Ms. Brita Helleland, UNHCR Resident Representative in Turkmenistan attended the meeting.
In their opening remarks the organizers noted that the policy of progressive reforms and changes, the essence of which were embodied in the principle “a state for the people” declared President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was consistent with the UN fundamental standards and values.
The UNFPA Programme sets forth the key priorities of bilateral cooperation in such strategic spheres as economical and social policies, health care, environmental protection. The presentation focused on the results of the programme work done in the period. The video film was demonstrated or the participants.
