OREANDA-NEWS. On July 03, 2009 The President got acquainted with the objects of the capital’s transport infrastructure that small local transport ring-road. The head of state visited a transport interchange at the crossroad of the Bogenbai Batyr Avenue and Akzhol Street, reported the Official website akorda.kz.

The other infrastructural object that had been visited by the President is a transport interchange at the crossroad of Pushkin and Akzhol Streets.

The interchanges will provide smooth movement of motor transport going to Almaty, Pavlodar and Kokshetau.

The project of 28-kilometered transport ring-road includes construction of 13 transport interchanges, 3 over bridges and 3 bridges. This project is planned to be built by 2012.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev then visited a new building of the National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways). At present, it is the tallest building in the country. The building stands 175 meters; the total area of its premises comprises 115,000 square meters.

The Automated Center for Transport Management is placed in the building. It will carry out the whole process of traffic and passenger transportation services. The specialists will be able to manage train flows, to control delivery of cargo at its destination, to distribute and regulate carriages and engines.

The staff of the JSC National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, its affiliated branches and subsidiaries that located in the capital will be accommodated in the building.

There are office premises, technical and auxiliary areas as well as a conference hall for 800 seats, a cafe, restaurants, fitness center, and an underground parking in the building. During the construction a special attention was given to fire safety.
