The achievements of Turkmenistan’s textile industry and the prospects for mutually advantageous cooperation in implementing its profound potential were the focus of the reports presented at the forum. It was emphasized that President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov’s innovative policy and initiatives to promote Turkmenistan’s active integration in world economy, favourable investment climate in the country and plans on further enhancement of the industry’s potential had conditioned foreign companies’ intense interest in intensifying business partnerships in this field.
It was noted that during the years of independence Turkmenistan had accumulated the profound experience of cooperation with foreign partners in implementing the investment projects in particular and as a result of this cooperation – dozens of new, factories and industrial complexes equipped with advanced technologies with the complete production cycle – from processing of cotton fiber to manufacture of a wide range of fabrics and finished products built throughout the country. The certificate was presented by the representatives of German Oerliron Schlafhorst to Abadan cotton mill. As is known, many textile enterprises in Turkmenistan are supplied with German equipment and today this partnership is filled with a new content. Opening the service centres that repair equipment and provide spare parts and train personnel in Turkmenistan on a regular basis was an important step to expand business contacts between Turkmen and German partners.
Mutually advantageous cooperation was the focus of the report made by an expert of the Korean Institute of Industrial Technology, who highly appreciated Turkmenistan’s strategy for development of textile industry. In this regard the proposals to establish cooperation on training highly qualified textile specialists and application of innovations in industry were put forward during the forum.

Technical textile was mentioned as one of the most important trends.
