OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2009. The Government has upped official salaries for the heads of rural councils and their staff. The Minister of Labour and Social Policy Liudmyla Denysova informed during the briefing.

According to her, for the mentioned categories of state employees the Gov’t has abolished extra payments at the rate 50% from their official salary for performing highly significant activity and for intensity of work.

Liudmyla Denysova underlined such Gov’t decision guarantees payment of salaries to the heads of rural councils and their staff irrespective of the fixed on the regional level extra payments.

“It is the first step in reforming a system of payment of labour applied to the local self-government bodies,” the Minister of Labour and Social Policy noted.

Liudmyla Denysova added the Gov’t intends to take further measures in the direction of regulating payment of salaries on the local level.
