OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 March 2009 was announced, that one of the major events of Russia in the field of promotion of high technologies, innovations, investment projects in the sphere of science and technology, the XVth High Technologies. Innovations. Investments International exhibition congress passed from March 10 to 13 in Lenexpo exhibition complex (St. Petersburg). This year the exhibition was devoted to the 100th anniversary of the first in Russia exhibition of the newest inventions, the 20th anniversary of innovative activity in Russia and the 15th anniversary of Fund of assistance to development of small forms of enterprises in the sphere of science and technology.

Karelian exposition prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelia and Administration of Petrozavodsk urban district presented 25 innovative and investment projects of Petrozavodsk State University, Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Science, and small innovative enterprises: Engineering Center of Fire Robots Technologies FR Joint-Stock Company, Proryv (Breakthrough) Scientific and Production Enterprise, Nelan-Oxide, Ltd., and other organizations.

Projects presented by Karelia have found and interested their target audience, many interesting and useful contacts have been established. The greatest interest, both aming the exhibition visitors, and participants from other regions and companies of St.-Petersburg was caused by the following projects: Wireless Sensor Nets with an Opportunity of 3D Object Location, Corrugated Packaging Program System of Production Planning (Corrugated Packaging PC software), Plasmophone Physiotherapeutic Plasma Device and some other. It is related, first of all, to the fact that these projects have already passed the basic commercialization stages and represent ready products or solutions for introduction. St.Petersburg State Railway University and Gazpromavtomatika Inc., affiliated company of Gazprom Inc., have shown their interest in use of wireless sensor nets.

Within the scope of the exhibition there passed The best innovative project and the best scientific and technical development of the year competition . Medals and diplomas in different nominations have been awarded to 5 projects from Karelia. Before announcing the results, the jury chairman has expressed the experts' common opinion that there were no weak projects at the competition. It was also noted, that due to the world economic crisis, all participants of the exhibition possess high scientific potential and their projects are competitive. As a result of the competition held Wireless Sensor Nets with an Opportunity of 3D Object Location and Corrugated Packaging Program System of Production Planning (Corrugated Packaging PC software) projects have been awarded with diplomas of the Ist degree and Greater Gold Medals. Projects presented by small innovative enterprises of Proryv (Breakthrough) Scientific and Production Enterprise and Nelan-Oxide, Ltd., have been awarded with diplomas of the IInd degree and Silver Medals. Plasmophone Physiotherapeutic Plasma Device developed by PetrSU has been awarded with the diploma of the laureate of the competition.

Estimating results of the exhibition, we would like to note that contacts established during such events do not necessarily continue within the framework of business projects. However, activity of developers will definitely yield, and participation in such exhibitions is a true chance to commercialize the most perspective developments of scientists and innovators of the RK.
