OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 March 2009 was announced, that Head of the Republic of Karelia Sergey Katanandov met in Moscow with Sergey Naryshkin, Head of Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.

Head of the Republic has reported to the Head of Administration on execution of the Decree of the President on celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia, on situation in the republic as a whole, on the condition of economy and some enterprises amid the financial crisis. At the initiative of Sergey Katanandov the subject of increasing of electricity prices which threaten to strangle small and medium business in the region has been raised. Head of the Republic has told of his offers on normalization of electricity prices. As he said, Sergey Naryshkin's reaction to these offers was positive, the more so as the similar situation has developed also in other regions of the country.

And though no specific decisions was at this working meeting, it is clear that in many respects through such meetings the country leaders receive information from regions that allows to improve the whole policy. As the Head of the Republic has managed to share his concern about activities of the powermen in the home market with the Head of Administration of the President, we can expect positive changes in this sphere.
