OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2009. The international seminar on the human security related issues of Afghanistan conflict has been launched in the Turkmen capital today.

The meeting bringing together the experts representing the international organisations, Central Asian states and countries neighbouring Afghanistan is organized by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia (UNRCCA) with the assistance of the Government of Turkmenistan.

This forum is one of the series regularly organized the UNHCR to provide assistance to the governments of the refugee-hosting countries. The overview on the current situation in Afghanistan and asylum seekers and the legal provisions regulating the status and rights of refugees will be presented during the seminar.
