OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2009. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko views as positive the fact that the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has handed over to the General Prosecutor’s Office the materials related to gas agreements of the Naftogaz of Ukraine.

On commenting the respective information to journalists in Kharkiv, the Premier announced: “I am glad the SBU has handed over the materials to the GPO and shrank from contravening the state interests”. Also Yulia Tymoshenko named it a commendable step of a new SBU head.

The Head of Government reminded the Government had concluded fair contracts on purchase of 11 bn cu m of gas for the population and national industrial enterprises. According to Yulia Tymoshenko, it has enabled to reduce the gas price for industrial producers and that is a great victory of Ukraine.

“But when attempts to take away this gas for shadow enterprises mean qualitative power, effective coersive structures, I am very pleased today that the SBU has removed the dark stain from its reputation,” the Head of Government emphasized.
