OREANDA-NEWS. The activity is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce on the occasion of the Day of Consumer Rights, annually celebrated since 1983 on March 15.

The "Week of informing consumers" should promote effective and transparent mechanism for observance of human rights and consumer protection; improve cooperation between public authorities, civil society and consumers.

On March 9-13, a number of campaigns on informing and educating the consumers will be held. In particular, centers of informing consumers that will offer advice on purchase of goods and services, as well as Consumer Guide will be installed in several shopping centers of Chisinau.

The policy in the field of consumer protection in Moldova is set in the National Strategy for Consumer Protection for 2008-2012. Its priorities are to ensure an adequate level of consumer protection and effective implementation of the laws on the basis of cooperation with civil society.
