PM Grecianii Discussed Activity of Oncological Institute of Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. On March 10, 2009 The prime minister described as satisfactory the activity of the institute in particular, which increased the number of patients up to 23,000, and of the system of mandatory health insurances, in general, reported the Official website http://gov.md.
Thus, over the last years, the budgetary allocations for medicine increased over six-fold, the salaries in medicine rose more than ten-fold, and starting from 1 March 2009 by another 23 per cent. Nevertheless, Grecianii said doctors' labour, which is of inestimable value, was and continues to be improperly remunerated.
At the same time, the prime minister emphasized that there are still reseves in the functioning of the medical system. "Some elements which we should get rid of still persist, and everybody's duty is that the services which we provide to society come up to the expectations of each Moldovan citizen," Zinaida Grecianii said.
The prime minister said that the investments made in the health system were huge, but not sufficient. Thus, in 2008 alone, an autonomous boiler room for hot water worth about one million euros, a heating supply system worth 1.5 million euros. etc. were constructed at the Oncological Institute. In 2009, an infrastructure for marrow transplantation of 1.5 million euros is to be carried out, the onco-surgery services is to be technically re-equipped, with the financing sum being ten million dollars, a blood bank is to be created, etc.
It is clear that the further development of Moldova's entire social field is in close connection with the evolution of the state of things in the national economy and with the promotion of reforms. Prime Minister Zinaida Grecianii reiterated the importance of the economic and political stability, now that the world is facing economic crisis and the parliamentary polls are getting closer.
She denied statements by some economic analysts who urge the National Bank to weaken the Moldovan leu against other currencies. "Presently, there are no objective premises for weakening the leu. Moreover, the leu has strengthened by ten percent against the euro since early 2008. If prudent economic policies continue to be promoted, and which is the more important, political stability is preserved in the country, absolutely all the budgetary commitments to the social bloc, pensions, salaries, medicine and education can be observed in 2009," Zinaida Grecianii said.
