OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 February 2009 was announced, that the governor of area Jury Evdokimov has held the first session of organising committee on preparation and carrying out of "the Murmansk international economic forum" ("MEF-2009").

Opening session, the head of region has reminded, that the regional government has accepted the decision about forum carrying out in October of the past year. The fund of an economic forum which will accumulate the means necessary on its carrying out is already created. In minekonomrazvitija region the working group which conducts everyday work on its preparation is created.

Jury Evdokimov named date of carrying out of a forum. It will take place from October, 15 till October, 17th. The basic actions will pass in the Ice palace. In a recreation centre it. Of Kirov and a regional philharmonic society plenary sessions, round tables, seminars will take place. General sponsors "MEF-2009" - "Gazprom", "Statojl-Gidro", "Total" are defined.

As is known, in 2008-2009 Russia presides in Council Barentseva/Evroarkticheskogo / of the Euroarctic region (SBER). Full participant Barentsregiona is the Murmansk area. It is expected, that within the limits of carrying out "MEF-2009" in Murmansk session of Council SBER with the assistance of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of five countries will take place.

Also within the limits of a forum in the Ice palace the exhibition "SEVTEK" will be developed, investment projects of municipal unions will be presented.

The main theme "MEF-2009" - discussion of problems of social and economic development of the European North and Arctic regions Russia in a context of the concept of development of Russia-2020. Will take place presentation of Strategy of development of Murmansk area till 2025, representation of positions of area as region of economic growth. Also the large, most significant investment projects realised and planned to realisation in territory of area and regions SZFO will be presented.

As Jury Evdokimov has informed, on a forum arrival of 600-800 participants, including from abroad is expected. In Murmansk it is obviously not enough hotel places to place all participants and visitors. The organising committee should solve this problem in the near future. Probably, by October it is necessary to charter large ferry or the passenger ship.

Participants of session have confirmed the agenda of a forum presented by the deputy minister of economic development by Victor Gorbunovym, and structure of executive committee concerning the organisation and to carrying out " MEF -2009" led by the vice-governor - the minister of economic development of area Valery Talichkinym.
