OREANDA-NEWS  On 20 February was announced, that according to data of the National Statistics Bureau, the number of town dwellers totaled 1 million 475.1 thousand citizens, that villagers – 2 million 92.4 thousand. 785.4 thousand citizens (716.9 thousand townsmen and 68.5 thousand – villagers) live in the Chisinau municipality. 1 million 13.8 thousand citizens (354.2 thousand in towns and 659.6 thousand in villages) live in the country’s northern region (Balti municipality, Briceani, Dondiuseni, Drochia, Edinet, Falesti, Floresti, Glodeni, Ocnita, Riscani, Singerei and Soroca regions). 1 million 65.5 thousand citizens (204.1 thousand in towns and 861.4 thousand – in villages) leave in the center of the country (Anenii Noi, Calarasi, Criuleni, Dubossari, Hincesti, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Orhei, Rezina, Straseni, Soldanesti, Telenesti and Ungheni regions). 542.9 thousand citizens (135.6 thousand in towns and 407.3 thousand in villages) live in the southern region (Besarabeasca, Cahul, Cantemir, Causeni, Cimislia, Leova, Stefan Voda, Taraclia regions). 159.9 thousand live in Gagauzia (64.3 thousand in towns and 95.6 thousand in villages).
