Head of Karelia Handed over Prizes to Winners of Programming Contest
OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 February 2009 was announced, that Petrozavodsk State University deservedly considered the Russia's informatization capital had held the winter programming training camp for university teams participating of the International Collegiate Programming Contest.
More than a hundred of young mathematicians from twenty Russian cities and the near abroad have gathered at the training camp. On February 6, results of the training camp have been summed up, and winners of the VIth Cup of the Head of the Republic of Karelia programming contest, including the team from Petrozavodsk, were awarded. Head of the Republic has congratulated the winners in person, having told that all the gifted people shall always feel at home in Karelia, and are always welcome. Sergey Katanandov has handed over valuable prizes and gifts to the winners.
Attention paid by the Head of the Republic to the young elite, talented and highly educated young men, grows from year to year. Remarkable in this connection is assignment he has given recently to the Minister of Labour and Employment of the RK Giviy Karapetov at discussion of anti-recessionary measures: "No young man with university education should be lost for the republic, as this is our treasure." On results of the recent live broadcast on Nika Plus TV channel Sergey Katanandov has assisted in person to employment of the young university graduate who could not find a job, as all employers demand operational experience for employment.
