OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2009. To implement recommendations of the Aviation Safety Agency of the European Commission concerning the inspectorial supervision over civil aviation on the territory of Ukraine and remove observations which have been discovered during the check-ups of aircrafts of the Ukrainian air companies, according to the SAFA program in the member-states of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), the State Aviation Administration has issued an order of improving the SAFA/SANA Program (Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft) in Ukraine.

In accordance with this order, the heads responsible for international flights and head of the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise (UkSATSE) shall appoint persons in the air companies responsible for coordination of issues on implementation of the SAFA/SANA Program in Ukraine within ten days of the date of issuing this order.

From now on, in case of holding inspections, according to the SAFA Program, the persons in charge of aircrafts of the Ukrainian air companies shall report about it to the SAFA/SANA inspector sector of Inspection Office of the State Aviation Administration, provide the letter-cheque copies of SAFA-checks and coordinated list of correcting actions on the outcomes of the check.

The Inspection Office head of the State Aviation Administration is responsible for inspecting operator aircrafts which had observations of the SAFA Program of first and second categories. On the outcomes of inspecting, he shall submit proposals on further international flights of these aircrafts.

On the whole, according to the order, till February 27, 2009 the head of SAFA/SANA Group in Ukraine on the basis of the State Aviation Administration is commissioned to organize and hold seminars on the subject “Basic provisions and requirements of the SAFA Program in the ECAC countries. Requirements of international standards of Supplement 1, 6, 8 to the Convention On International Civil Aviation”.
