OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2009. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivan Vasiunyk stays with a working visit in Lviv. He got familiarized with the state of reconstruction of international airport the Lviv and the process of building of the local stadium. Both objects were included into the program of gearing-up to the Euro-2012 Football Championship.

In the course of events the National Coordinator for Preparation of Airports Kyrylo Polishchuk and representatives of the Ukraeroproekt informed Vice Prime Minister that by March 10 building works on reconstruction of Lviv airdrome would start. At the same time, from March of the current year search of potential investor to construct a new air-terminal in Lviv will also commence, as the National Coordinator and representatives of the Tebodin-Ukrayina company informed Ivan Vasiunyk.

Also Vice Prime Minister studied the process of works on the stadium. According to him, everything he has seen is, in fact, an answer to those skeptics who several months ago were convinced that through absence of real works on the spot for the stadium Lviv would lose the right to host matches of the Euro-2012. He reiterated on importance of the mentioned project for Ukraine and the cities, in particular.

“The Euro-2012 is the project which forces Ukrainians to make things which has never been done for 17 years and it is unknown, whether it will be done in the aftermath,” I. Vasiunyk said.

Together with Ivan Vasiunyk Lviv is attended by Director of Coordination Bureau for Preparation of Ukraine to the European Football Championship of 2012 Illya Shevlyak, National Coordinators and Head of Executive Direction of FFU on preparation and holding of the finals of the European Football Championship of 2012 Ivan Fedorenko.
