OREANDA-NEWS. On January 14, 2009 The Government has approved a decision at its sitting that henceforth persons with diabetes mellitus will receive not medicines purchased earlier by the Ministry of Health but budget means to buy necessary medicines. Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko told a press conference on the outcomes of the Cabinet’s sitting.

“Finally the Ministry of Health won’t buy insulin and distribute it among patients but give money envisaged by the budget to the persons with diabetes mellitus and they will buy medicines required for efficient treatment,” the Head of Government noted.

The Prime Minister also told that at its sitting the Government had also endorsed a Concept of the National Target Program “Diabetes Mellitus” for 2009-2013.
